This is really off topic, but I need your help - as does the Whaleman Foundation. Has any of you heard of SocialVibe? Well, SocialVibe is a place where you can raise points to raise money for any cause you believe in without spending one single cent.
Today I received an e-mail from my cause - The Whaleman Foundation - and it said that there's less than two months to reach their goal of 1 million signatures for their petition, which they are presenting at the June meeting of the International Whaling Commission. They are asking all their supporters to get everyone they know to sign the petition, so that they can reach their goal. So far they've reached 135,694 signatures.
You may not know me, but I really need your help here. The whales are well on the way to being extinct. I've found myself crying over this a couple of times.
Now, there are two versions of whaling. One of them being commercial whaling, which is illegal and that is what The Whaleman Foundation is working on banning. The other is aboriginal whaling which is people killing the whales because they need it. They use every part of the whale, while commercial whalers doesn't use the whales - they are just killing them for money.
If there are people here who don't agree with stopping commercial whaling, please don't say anything - just walk away. I don't want to argue. People have different opinions and there has to be someone here who cares enough to sign. It doesn't take more than a minute. All you have to do is write your first name, last name, e-mail and country. You don't even have to join to sign the petition!
